A day in the life of..an activites & development officer 1.2

Aloha Northumbria!

Very happy to say it’s been a few weeks since my last blog, not a month! I’ve been mega busy the past few weeks getting back on track after RAG, so here are a few things I’ve been up to:

  • Employability sub-committee in the university

My role as student representative in this committee is considered very highly, and it’s really nice to see the university prioritising the student opinion. We’re working with the uni to come up with how we make our lovely students in demand by employers – and what we can do to make you stand out!

  • Reviewing RAG

As I mentioned in my last blog, I’m reviewing RAG and the way it works, so if anyone has any ideas feel free to drop me a line :)

  • Casual sport

Lots of discussions have been happening both within the union and with Northumbria Sport, as to how we can work together to make participation sport accessible to students. The university are also wanting to implement a sport strategy, so this is the perfect time to be fighting for this!

  • Refreshers week

The agenda for Refreshers Week is looking very full and very fun, so join up to the facebook event and get your friends involved!

I’ve also got things this week like trustees and my PDR (personal development review) to review my first 6 months in post!

Hope you’re all enjoying the last week of term!

Sarah :)
